Creative Placemaking — Systems
Our goal is to ensure that community development and arts organizations have the support they need to use creative placemaking to advance equity in low- and moderate-income communities. To achieve this goal, we work to change systems at the state level in order to produce a conducive environment for creative placemaking.
The Community Opportunity Alliance and its members seek to influence public policy, funding, investment, and capacity-building environments at the state level.
NACEDA Creative Placemaking Immersion Program — Report to the National Endowment for the Arts
This final report details outcomes of our Creative Placemaking Immersion Program (Immersion Program), a program designed to:
- build creative placemaking knowledge among a targeted audience of community development corporations and community-based development organizations;
- to support regional community development systems that utilize arts and cultural strategies and stakeholders to improve place-based outcomes for low and moderate-income people and places and communities of color.
Aligning the Arts, Culture & Community Economic Development Sectors
This report was developed as part of a contract with Grantmakers in the Arts. It paints a picture of the community economic development field for arts-based organizations interested in collaboration. It is designed as a primer for organizations outside the community economic development sector (especially arts organizations) to understand it interfaces with arts and culture.
