The Money Meets Community series is a comprehensive analysis of the community development sector’s identity, activities, and business lines. 
We commissioned this series of reports as part of the Grounding Values in Research program. The reports analyze a publicly-available dataset, initially created by the Urban Institute and augmented by the Community Opportunity Alliance.

The reports provide:

  • Research-based suggestions for funders to more effectively support community development organizations.

  • An understanding of the array of services that community development organizations provide to holistically serve community needs.

  • A bird’s-eye view of the scale of services provided — and the scope of impact.

The reports were written by independent researcher Chris Walker; Frank Woodruff, Executive Director of the Community Opportunity Alliance; and Kevin Morris, Senior Vice President of NeighborWorks America. Read the reports:
